Virgin Islands Electricity

In the Virgin Islands, using some electrical appliances may require advance planning

Foreign Powers

The electrical service on the Virgin Islands is the same the U.S. mainland, 110 volts, 60 cycles AC.

North American appliances are fully compatible, while European appliances will need both converters and adapters. Call your hotel ahead of time in any case to be sure.

For the most part, electricity on the islands is stable and reliable, unlike some other parts of the Caribbean. Most hotels and resorts have generators in case of emergencies, but they are rarely needed or used.
