The Virgin Islands are home to a variety of hotels and resorts

Check In to Check Them Out

Hotels and resorts of all shapes and sizes dot the Virgin Islands. From quaint bed-and-breakfasts located in relative seclusion, to high-capacity mega-resorts with plenty of amenities, you are sure to find something to suit your individual style.

Resorts

The British Virgin Islands are known for their"get away from it all" atmosphere. Resorts here offer high-quality accommodations nestled in beautiful secluded settings for those who who want to step into a new world. However, this means that business travelers should take special care to find out if technological amenities, such as Internet access, are available at resorts and hotels in the British Virgin Islands.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Virgin Islands offer plenty of upscale options along with some that are a little further off the beaten path. One resort on St. Croix even offers visitors a degree in marine ecology from the University of St. Croix. This university is non-accredited, and the degree requires a three night stay and two tours of St. Croix - an interesting way to spend a resort vacation.

Hotels, Inns, and Guesthouses

Hotels and inns are affordable and popular accommodation options that range from not-so-upscale hotels to tiny inns and quaint bed-and-breakfasts. There are plenty to choose from throughout both the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. Even the out-of-the-way St. John has a few. But don't be caught off guard in the British Virgin Islands - not every hotel accepts credit cards as a method of payment.

Guesthouses are another unique accommodation option. But what a guesthouse looks like varies not just from country to country within the Caribbean, or from island to island among the Virgin Islands, but also from location to location. There's no real way to know what to expect when you arrive at your guesthouse unless you have seen photos or spoken to someone who has stayed there. You will always find something a little different when you plan your stay in a Virgin Island guesthouse.

Hide away from the hustle and bustle of the world, or stay close to the excitement of the city. Hotels and resorts let you choose what fits you best.
