Campgrounds in the Virgin Islands offer quiet nights

Sleep by the Sea

Camping and eco-tourism are extremely popular among the Virgin Islands, perhaps due to the incredible natural beauty of these islands. Camping is available in the U.S. Virgin Islands only on the island of St. John. Meanwhile, campgrounds can be found on Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.

St. John is the nature preserve of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Here travelers can explore a National Park or camp at Cinnamon Bay, where they'll find fully-equipped cottages and tents as well as basic campsites.

Travelers to St. John can also stay at eco-resorts, including Maho Bay Camps and Concordia Eco-Tents. These sites are eco-friendly and often have tents with porches and basic kitchens. Some of the cottages at Maho Bay even run on solar power and are made from recycled materials.

The beaches of the British Virgin Islands offer campgrounds that are a little less eco-oriented. Tent camping is available at all sites, with rental cabins available at some. Stay at Brewer's Bay, Loblolly Bay, or White Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

Sea lovers naturally want to be near the ocean. In the Virgin Islands, travelers can enjoy pristine beaches, incredible snorkeling, and accommodation options that put them right next to the water.
